Nurse Practitioner - Internal Medicine, Family Nurse Practitioner
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Internal Medicine and Family Practice at a rural health facility just outside Lafayette. This vital role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care in a close-knit community setting. You will provide acute care and follow-up management for chronic conditions, working alongside a supportive onsite team and collaborating with an off-site supervising physician available by phone. Ready to start as soon as credentialed (approximately 10-15 days), this position runs from April 16, 2026, through June 3, 2026, with weekdays Monday through Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Fridays 8 am to noon, ensuring consistent staffing during clinic hours.
Required Skills: Valid Louisiana RN license with Nurse Practitioner certification Proven experience in internal medicine or family practice Ability to independently manage acute and chronic conditions Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills: Bilingual proficiency Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems Basic knowledge of telehealth platforms
Preferred Education and Experience: Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner in internal medicine or family practice Previous experience working in a rural healthcare environment is advantageous
Other Requirements: Must have an active and clean Louisiana license and certification Willingness to work on-site during scheduled hours Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, community-focused healthcare setting
