Surgical Technologist

*Description:* The Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with other personnel in delivering quality care to the patient and assumes responsibilities pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. He/she demonstrates technical competence and knowledge of aseptic technique, operating room policies and procedures, equipment, and supplies and instruments used in the operating room. He/she must possess well-developed critical thinking skills and positive interpersonal relationships. The tech utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

*Number of Hours:* Full-time: 32 hours/week. Part-time: 16-24 hours/week.

*Schedule: *Surgeries are typically scheduled Monday – Friday from 7 am – 4 pm. This position may come in as early as 6am and the end time may be before or after 4 pm, depending on the daily case load. This position is scheduled 2-4 days/week and includes weekend, weekday and holiday call on a rotating basis.

*Educational Requirements:* Certified Scrub Tech required.
