Job Description Description Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to large and small Water, Sewer and Utility Districts; Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a utilities inspector to help serve our connection of clients and community. Conduct field inspections of utility work related to wastewater systems, including piping, valves, pumps, lift stations, and treatment components. Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, permits, and specifications. Document daily field activities, site conditions, and contractor performance using field reports and digital tools. Identify and report discrepancies, non-compliant work, or safety concerns to the project engineer or construction manager. Coordinate with local municipalities, contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and issue resolution.
What you'll need
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 8+ years of relevant field experience inspecting water, sewer, or wastewater utility systems. Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and utility construction practices. Familiarity with municipal codes, EPA regulations, and OSHA safety standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field documentation tools (e.g., GIS, tablets, inspection software) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 10/30-Hour Construction Safety Confined Space Entry Certification NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP or other utility inspection certifications
