We are seeking skilled General Medicine Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens position near Eielson AFB, AK. This PRN (as-needed) role offers flexibility and the opportunity to perform vital Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans. The position starts ASAP and continues on an ongoing basis, providing you with a meaningful way to contribute to Veteran care while enjoying a flexible work schedule.

C&P Exams :
- Conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans.
- Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment is required, allowing you to focus solely on delivering thorough and accurate assessments.
Specialization Requirements :
- Open to physicians from Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or those with a general medicine background.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues is essential.
- Proficiency in METs testing, as well as the evaluation and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions, is required.
- Flexible Work Environment :
- Two coverage options are available: Travel to perform exams at a designated facility or schedule Veterans within your own practice.
- Flexibility to work half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours) based on your availability and preferences.
- Training Provided : Comprehensive training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).
- Documentation :
- Complete and submit Reporting/DBQs within 48 hours of exam completion.
- No narrative report required; the final product is the completion of standardized forms.
- Ongoing administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic readings, will be required.
- Laptop Requirement : Providers must use their own personal laptop (NO MACs).
- Quick Credentialing : Expedited credentialing and onboarding are available to ensure you can start promptly.
- Eligible Specialties : Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or any Physician with a background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension exams.
- Additional Requirements :
- Use of a Goniometer is required.
- DMA certification is available (CME credits can be earned); certification must be obtained once privileged if not already certified. This certification is provided free of charge.
