• Patient Demographics: Mixed; primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric patients
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 135 patients per day
• Admissions: 22% of patients are admitted
• Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

• Annual Volume: 49,500 visits
• EMR System: Meditech (transitioning to EPIC in March 2025)
• Specialty Backup Available: Robust backup specialties available onsite
• Support Staff Available: Scribe coverage for 10 hours daily

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active Louisiana state medical license required
• Certifications:
• ATLS (required for FM-trained physicians)
• ACLS and PALS (required for all physicians)
• Residency: Must have completed an EM or FM residency
• Experience: If FM-trained, must have proof of ED experience within the past two years
• Board Certification: Acceptable boards include ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM. ABPS boards are not accepted.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including RNs, APPs, and specialty consultants
• Utilize EMR systems (Meditech, transitioning to EPIC) for patient documentation
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards, including vaccination requirements
