Job Description
Our Club staff members are educators, coaches, mentors, community leaders, and ambassadors. They don't just open the doors of our Clubs - they open the door to new worlds and possibilities for kids and communities across Metro Denver.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is seeking motivated, compassionate, and reliable individuals to join our team as Before Care Youth Development Specialists to help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for youth before school starts. This position supports the planning, supervision and implementation of a variety of high-yield activities and targeted programs within Athletics, Cultural Arts Education and Stem for our Before Care programs at club sites.
What You'll Do
  • Greet and supervise Club members during early morning programming
  • Lead quiet, structured, or enrichment activities (reading, games, breakfast, etc.)
  • Build positive relationships with youth and families
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive space where members feel supported and ready for the school day
  • Support daily check-in and transitions from Club to school
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • One year experience directly serving youth (i.e., working or volunteering at school, camp, coaching, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic classroom management and the ability to direct youth and provide them with clear steps and tools that support goals achievement.
  • Experience with lesson plan creation and implementation
  • Bilingual- Spanish preferred
  • Possession of a teaching certification or background in education
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to complete reports, properly document programs, and utilize organizational data
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be able to pass criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
  • The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
  • Strong English proficiency is required for this position to ensure effective communications with staff, Club members, and families, as well as to follow safety and procedural guidelines accurately.
