Job Summary

The SMT Operator will program surface mount machines for the assembly of printed circuit boards in accordance with customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up jobs and operates surface mount machines.
• Programs surface mount machines for production of jobs.
• Participates in and coordinates committee activities as needed.
• Performs assembly requirements in the SMT Department as needed.
• Works efficiently to meet production schedules.
• Collaborates with Inspection and Test Departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Performs duties in compliance with the Companys Quality System.
• Makes process improvement recommendations.
• Communicates equipment maintenance needs to the SMT Group Leader.
• Maintains an organized and neat work area.
• Participates in quality system audits as needed.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience as an SMT Operator in electronic manufacturing or related industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to identify electronic components.
• Ability to read complex electronic assembly drawings.
