The Civil Exploration, Energy, and Environment Portfolio at Leidos is excited to announce an opening for a GIS Application Developer focused on Environmental Solutions.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the design and development of innovative web mapping applications aimed at enhancing the presentation of geospatial data, decision factors, environmental investigation findings, and reports. Your work will directly empower stakeholders in managing environmental programs across government facilities.

As a GIS Application Developer, you will leverage ESRI App Builders and ESRI ArcGIS SDKs to craft customized solutions. Your contributions will significantly influence the planning and execution of environmental investigations and remediation projects, encompassing data management, processing, analysis, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC), geospatial modeling, and project reporting and map production.

Working closely with Leidos Project Managers and Senior Staff, you will have opportunities to collaborate with various teams across multiple Leidos offices and with external subcontractors. To excel in this role, you should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate diverse data sources into standardized geodatabases using commercial GIS tools, ensuring thorough data examination for completeness and accuracy.
  • Combine data from local, state, and federal agencies with laboratory, field, and historical sources to produce fully georeferenced data files in ArcGIS.
  • Support innovative data integration and geospatial modeling techniques, including testing and validation of workflows.
  • Document data integration methods and requirements comprehensively.
  • Develop, publish, and customize mapping services and applications for geospatial data analysis.
  • Design GIS application functionalities in accordance with stakeholder needs.
  • Create custom GIS application programming for seamless data integration and display.
  • Collaborate effectively with GIS, AutoCAD, and non-geospatial staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, GIS, or a related scientific field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • Strong skills in data management and geospatial analysis.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcPro software to create maps and mapping services related to environmental data.
  • Proficiency in ESRI App Builders and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with FGDC and SDSFIE data standards.
  • Experience in developing, modifying, and maintaining application code.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT systems compliance in line with government and corporate security requirements, including RMF.
  • Familiarity with Earthsoft EQuIS REST API and report customization.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience in training field personnel on GPS survey equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to write custom T-SQL statements for data manipulation in structured datasets.
  • Must be able to pass background checks and obtain access to U.S. Government installations.

Pay Range: $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
