Fischione Instruments is seeking a full-time Mechanical Assembler at our manufacturing facility located in Export, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of our laboratory and specimen preparation products.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and test small assemblies involving many parts; alignment, surface finish, precision tolerance of parts, and appearanceUse lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other tools to fit and size partsAssemble parts while using eye loupes and microscopesClean and prepare parts for assemblyBond parts using solder or adhesivesInspect parts and assemblies using micrometers, indicators, an optical comparator, and a measuring microscopeAssist in packing and shipping productsMaintain orderly work area, machines, and equipmentMeet production schedule requirementsProvide feedback to the Manufacturing and Engineering departments, as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentTechnical school or machining apprenticeship is desirableAt least five years of mechanical experience is required; 10 years of experience is preferredFamiliarity with requirements for parts used in vacuum is desirableValid driver's licenseFamiliarity with redlining changes to drawing for later reviewPhysical requirementsRegularly required to: stand, walk, sit (sometimes for extended periods); use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and seeObserve, feel, and handle small objectsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; the ability to adjust focus; perform some tasks while using a stereo or digital microscopeMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a background check and a drug testWork hoursOccasional overtime; sometimes on the weekend, sometimes on short notice.If you meet our qualifications and are interested in a challenging, high-tech field where there is always room to learn and grow, we are interested in meeting you.EOE
