Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles, either in the field or virtually, to assess the extent of damage and needed repairs.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate damage appraisals using industry-standard software (e.g., CCC, Mitchell) and align estimates with company guidelines and industry practices.
  • Work closely with body shops and repair facilities to verify the accuracy of damage assessments, repair methods, and costs to ensure fair and reasonable settlements.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders to explain the claims and appraisal process, address concerns, and provide guidance on next steps.
  • Work in partnership with claims adjusters, repair shops, and other third parties to facilitate the timely resolution of claims.
  • Ensure all appraisals comply with company policies, state regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Accurately document and report appraisal findings, including photos, detailed estimates, and any other required documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, repair methods, and new technologies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education opportunities to maintain expertise and improve performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or trade school degree in automotive repair or related field.
  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair or appraisal. Previous experience in an insurance claims environment is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of claims while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in claims management systems and relevant software.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting auto claims.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of auto appraisal software (e.g., CCC One, Mitchell).
  • Strong understanding of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
