I'm currently working with a growing manufacturing company based near Naperville, IL that produces precision mechanical components. They're known for both off-the-shelf and custom-engineered solutions. As the business continues to expand, they're seeking a Financial Plant Controller to join their team. This person will play a key role in maintaining strong financial oversight, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and partnering closely with operational leadership. Responsibilities will include managing the budgeting process, analyzing cost structures, supporting audits, overseeing payroll, and ensuring accurate inventory and financial records at the plant level. Financial Plant Controller Responsibilities: Guide and mentor a team of 3 accounting individuals. Partner with plant leadership to deliver clear, data-driven insights into operational performance, particularly around production costs. Take charge of budgeting cycles and financial projections, while pinpointing cost drivers and helping the team address inefficiencies. Act as a key resource for operations, offering insights on financial processes, accounting practices, and internal control frameworks to help drive smarter decision-making on the shop floor and beyond. Guide and mentor the finance staff, encouraging professional growth and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. Manage the annual review and adjustment of product costing models. Collaborate with production teams to ensure accurate cost capture and consistency across all levels. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Monitor spending, assess variances, and safeguard the integrity of plant financials through disciplined reporting and analysis. Champion ongoing improvements by leveraging financial data to uncover trends, streamline processes, and implement cost-saving strategies that enhance operational efficiency. Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Extensive Cost Accounting/Inventory experience within the manufacturing industry Operational reporting experience within a manufacturing environment.
