40 hours a week Pay rate : $20.00/hr.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Schedules hair appointments for residents. Checks hair and scalp and reports any changes in hair or scalp condition to nursing units. Shampoos and styles hair by setting, blow-drying, cutting, trimming, and tapering; and performs beauty services such as applying solutions that straighten hair or retain curls or waves in hair or providing color rinses and permanent hair coloring. Orders supplies and maintains inventory of products in beauty shop. Performs services in beauty shop, and on nursing units and in beds for residents unable to be taken to beauty shop. Sweeps hair from floor and cleans beauty shop, and equipment. Performs related tasks and other duties as assigned by the Resident Care Representative.
ssignment/Justification The incumbent provides hair care services to the residents of the Kane Regional Centers to properly groom, enhance the appearance, and maintain the dignity of each resident, providing service in accordance with Federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility.
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience Knowledge of hair care procedures and the care and use of supplies and equipment. Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset people within a long-term care facility. Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions. Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Skill in cutting, trimming and shaping residents' hair and in the application of hair products and techniques.
