Cleveland Clinic provides evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Respiratory Therapy caregivers evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform respiratory therapy assessment with the guidance of a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Provide basic respiratory therapy modalities to both adult and pediatric patients. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Current temporary limited permit to practice respiratory care (RCLP-L1) in the State of Ohio Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Prior experience performing invasive procedures Check off on RCLP L-1 Permit: BiPAP, CPAP, trach care and blood gasses Physical Requirements: Physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time; having the ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting. Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range. Requires the ability to lift materials weighing 50 lbs. or more, push wheeled equipment, and assist in the lifting and repositioning of patients. Must have strong hand-eye coordination, full range of body motion and manual finger dexterity to manipulate equipment. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
