Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team at their state-of-the-art facility in Cary, IL. Responsibilities:
Design custom industrial heaters, enclosures, and thermal systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality) to develop cutting-edge, manufacturable designs Perform design calculations and thermal simulations to validate concepts and performance Generate detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation to support production and quality standards Drive continuous product improvement through design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancements Participate in design reviews and lead prototype testing and validation Support customer-specific product customization and application engineering
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 2-5+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, etc.), and GD&T Experience with thermal systems, heaters, or similar electrical-mechanical assemblies is a major plus Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong communication skills and a passion for innovation
