Distribution Technician

Organization: SLH-Sutter Lakeside Hospital Position Overview: Distribution Technician ensures adequate storage and receives, stores, and uses materials, supplies and equipment. Distribution of medical and surgical supplies and equipment to all hospital departments. Takes inventory and restocks Med/Surg/ICS, and any other departments, on weekly or as needed basis. Responsible for shipping, returns of stock supplies. Processes in-coming and out-going mail. This person will sort and distribute mail and supplies to all appropriate departments. Separate the biller's mail and deliver it to the appropriate department in a timely manner. Deliver interoffice correspondence to the hospital and outlying medical offices. Duplicate necessary hospital forms upon written request in a timely manner. Inventories and requests printing supplies through purchasing assistant, upon approval of the director. EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE DL-California Drivers Class C PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Hospital background in warehouse/distribution/shipping and receiving. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Must be knowledgeable of materials, medical equipment terminology. Basic knowledge of PC operations and data. Internal audit and inventory procedure desired. Basic math and oral/written/telephone skills is required. Knowledge of Customer service requirements. Must be self-directed and require a minimum of supervision. Accuracy, attention to detail, organization prioritization skills are required. Knowledge of business machines such as risographs and postage meters. Knowledge of materials handling equipment and techniques which include forklift, pallet jack and truck.
