Golden Nugget Las Vegas Security Officer

It is the responsibility of the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Security Officer to perform basic and advanced security functions and Guest Services for the Golden Nugget/Landry's Inc. Responsibilities include providing unequaled service to guests and employees, performing casino related responsibilities such as fills, credits, drops, voids, and conducting area based security patrols in assigned areas throughout the property. The Security Officer conducts identification checks to ensure only patrons of age 21 and older are permitted in age restricted areas, enforces the Golden Nugget's Code of Conduct and rules and regulations, and performs citizen's arrests or legal detainments when it is legal to do so. The officer completes security reports, conducts investigations into violations of State and Local laws, and performs other security or non-security duties as required. The Security Officer handles lost and found property and performs exterior perimeter checks to include all company owner property on foot or a bicycle. Qualifications include excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills. Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are essential, as is fluency in English and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly. The candidate must be computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Office applications and able to use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer. The Security Officer must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management and employees, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, understand questions and instructions from management, read, analyze and interpret documents in English, properly respond to common inquiries from employees or guests, apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations, react rationally to high stress situations while maintaining a calm demeanor, and have working knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures. The candidate must also have working knowledge of state and local laws and how to apply them. Successful completion of company and gaming background screening process is required, along with the ability to properly use security equipment such as two way radio, handcuffs, etc. The Security Officer must successfully complete the following training certifications: Golden Nugget Basic Security Academy, Golden Nugget Handcuffing, Golden Nugget Defensive Tactics, and In-Service review training. License requirements include Gaming Registration, Current Alcohol Management Certification, Current Nevada Driver's License, and Current American Red Cross or Equivalent Adult CPR Certification.
