Program Operations

Lead the full implementation of the 21st CCLC afterschool program at PS 155. Plan and oversee enrichment activities, academic supports, and SEL programming for up to 170 students throughout the school year. Oversee development and submission of lesson plans, ensuring they align with 21st CCLC goals and complement the school-day curriculum. Ensure coordination and alignment between after-school programming and school-day instruction through regular collaboration with school staff. Oversee daily arrival and dismissal procedures, ensuring safe transitions and supervision of all students. Supervise part-time program staff and adjust staffing patterns as needed to maintain proper ratios and support high-quality instruction. Support Community Schools initiatives by participating in day-school push-in opportunities or facilitating in-school enrichment activities to promote program visibility and help meet 21st CCLC target enrollment. Salary:

$48,000-$55,000

Data & Compliance

Manage student enrollment, attendance, and demographic data using

Afterschool 21

(tracking program). Ensure timely and accurate data entry to meet compliance with NYSED and grant reporting deadlines. Track program outputs (workshops, events, services) and maintain student files. Compile with all required SACC (School Aged Child Care) regulations, including paperwork, clearances, and trainings for yourself and all site staff.

Family & School Engagement

Serve as the primary liaison between afterschool staff, day school personnel, families, and community partners. Coordinate regularly with school administration, including the Principal and Parent Coordinator-to align program goals, support family engagement, and identify shared opportunities for collaboration. Participate in required 21st CCLC collaborative planning meetings (minimum four per year) and advisory board meetings (minimum four per year) to ensure consistent communication and shared decision-making between the school and program. Support Community School strategies by assisting with events, service coordination, and outreach to families. Collaborate with school leadership and other school-based programs to ensure seamless service delivery.

Staff Management & Training

Support staff recruitment, including reviewing resumes and participating in interviews. Onboard, support, and supervise part-time staff, including Group Leaders and Activity Specialists when applicable. Coordinate with the Program Manager to provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance feedback to staff. Ensure Group Leaders and Activity Specialists receive targeted training aligned with their roles, including activity planning, youth engagement strategies, safety procedures, and 21st CCLC/DOE compliance. Ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols, SACC regulations, and 21st CCLC grant requirements. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning among staff to support high-quality programming and youth outcomes.

Program Planning & Delivery

Create and maintain program schedules and calendars. Lead planning and implementation of family engagement events, showcases, and student presentations. Oversee inventory and ordering of program supplies and manage site-based OTPS budgets as directed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; focus in education, Youth Development, Social Work, or related field (preferred). Ability to meet SACC Site Supervisor qualifications within 60 days

2 +years of experience working with school-aged children (13 and under) in educational or youth development settings, with at least 1 year in leadership or supervisory role.

Familiarity with DOE schools, SACC, and 21st CCLC program requirements, including entering data for an afterschool is strongly preferred. Experience working in or with Community Schools or wraparound service models is a plus. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and problem-solve creatively. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to effectively manage staff with confidence and sensitivity. Physical ability to navigate stairs, supervise physical activities, and respond promptly to emergency situations. Proficiency in utilizing basic digital platforms for data entry and communication.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (subject to change based on program needs). Must be available during all scheduled afterschool program hours, family events, and staff meetings. Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.
