EKG Technician - MV

Prepares patient and performs electrocardiogram procedure following established policies and procedures. Essential Responsibilities: Upholds Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws. Prepares patient for and performs diagnostic EKG procedures as prescribed, explains and answers questions regarding equipment function and procedures. Scans electrocardiograph tracings for variance from established norms, determines representative portions before releasing patient, cuts and mounts representative portions and forwards to physician for interpretation. Responds to acute emergency situation as established in policies and procedures. May perform other diagnostic testing such as treadmill, Holter, or Vectro Cardiogram. Establishes and maintains courteous cooperative relations with the public, patients, and other personnel. Performs other duties as required, such as answering telephones and relays messages, maintains equipment in operating order, and schedules appointments for master exams. Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organization's philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service. Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed. Basic Qualifications: Six months (1,000 hours) hospital EKG Technician experience. Knowledge of various types of cardiac equipment including but not limited to EKG, Holter Monitors, and Treadmill tests. Basic Life Support Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in all factors of EKGs, Stress Testing Treadmills, and Stress Echos both in lab or bedside.
