About the Opportunity HireNow Staffing is actively searching for a sharp, detail-driven

Materials Coordinator

to support the strategic execution of high-impact construction projects in the Amarillo region. This is a

hybrid opportunity

(3 days onsite weekly) offering the chance to work with a high-performing team on essential energy infrastructure projects.

The right candidate will have a solid background in

construction project coordination , materials planning, and schedule optimization. If you're highly organized, confident with engineering drawings, and experienced in field logistics and resource allocation this role offers a compelling opportunity to make an impact across large-scale utility or industrial environments.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Materials Coordinator, you'll act as a critical link between engineering, field construction teams, and procurement. Your mission will be to ensure materials, labor, and equipment are aligned with schedule demands, enabling safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Your responsibilities will include: Interpreting engineering drawings to identify and confirm material needs and bill of materials (BOMs) Coordinating construction work packages with labor, material, and equipment assignments Developing and updating project schedules with critical path timelines, adjusting for real-time changes Managing material tracking systems, forecasting usage, and supporting procurement to avoid delays Supporting budget planning and materials cost tracking across capital and O&M projects Assisting in the continuous improvement of construction planning and project controls systems Leading communication around scheduling risks, constraints, and priority conflicts Collaborating closely with site leads, engineers, and project managers to streamline execution Ensuring alignment with compliance requirements, safety standards, and project KPIs

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in construction management,

Engineering , or

Project Management Prior experience with

project planning, scheduling, or material coordination

in a construction or utility setting Ability to read technical drawings and translate engineering data into actionable material requirements Solid understanding of

critical path method (CPM)

scheduling and work package creation Strong communication and organizational skills; able to coordinate across disciplines Must be willing to work onsite 3 days per week in

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with

Xcel Energy projects

or utility-scale construction environments Experience with SAP, Primavera, MS Project, or other project planning software Background in maintenance, operations planning, or field-level project controls
