The CTE Lab Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the instructor and students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) setting, including the shop and classroom. This role involves providing hands-on assistance with equipment, materials, and activities related to technical and workforce education. The lab assistant ensures a safe, efficient, and organized learning environment, helping students engage with the curriculum and perform tasks that prepare them for future careers in various trades. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary coursework or certification in a CTE-related field (e.g., welding, carpentry, automotive technology, or other trades) is preferred. Prior experience in a CTE setting or hands-on technical work in a trade shop is desirable. Experience working with students or in an educational setting is a plus. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proficiency in handling tools, equipment, and materials related to the technical field. - Attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures. - Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and assist students with problem-solving. - Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and materials as necessary. Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and various shop equipment. Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Support Instructional Activities:

Assist the CTE instructor in delivering lessons, demonstrations, and practical activities in both the classroom and shop environment. Help students with hands-on exercises related to the curriculum. Equipment & Material Management:

Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials used in class and shop activities. Ensure the availability of necessary supplies for projects, and help prepare materials for lessons. Safety & Compliance:

Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining safety protocols and supervising students to follow proper procedures when using equipment and machinery. Assist with safety training and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Student Support:

Provide individual and small group support to students during class and lab activities. Offer guidance on technical tasks and troubleshooting while promoting skill development. Lab Organization & Cleanliness:

Assist with the organization of the lab space, keeping workstations clean and safe. Dispose of materials and waste according to safety guidelines. Assist with Assessment:

Help the instructor with the grading and assessment of student projects, providing feedback as directed. Inventory Control:

Track inventory levels for tools, materials, and equipment, and assist in the ordering and restocking process. Communication & Collaboration:

Work closely with instructors, staff, and students to maintain clear communication about assignments, deadlines, and equipment needs. Participate in team meetings and collaborate on curriculum planning as needed. Salary:

Salary to be established by The Limestone County School's District Salary Schedule. Terms of Employment:
