Job Summary:
The IBC Mechanic/Welder is responsible for executing all phases of IBC repair to meet company standards for quality control and to provide the best customer service at the lowest possible cost. The IBC Mechanic/Welder is also responsible for welding IBC's that have structural cracks and in addition the IBC Mechanic/ Welder is responsible for inspecting and testing IBC's. This role is accountable for proper completion of all issuance of certificates, estimate repairs as well as safety compliance with all company policies. The IBC Mechanic/Welder will also perform other duties as instructed by the Tank Wash Manager and IBC Supervisor.
Duties include (but not limited to): Responsible for all phases of IBC repair Responsible for ensuring that all paperwork is handled properly to meet company standards for quality control Responsible for air tests, 2.5 year and 5-year DOT tests. Able to distinguish between dirty and clean IBC's. Be proficient in the use of Oxy/Propylene gas cutting torch. Be proficient in the use of a Plasma arc cutting torch. Be proficient in the use of Metal Inert Gas Welding process on Carbon and Stainless Steel. Be proficient in the use of Gas Tungsten arc Welding process on Carbon and Stainless Steel Able to understand and perform provided Welding procedure specifications Responsible for enforcing and practicing safety rules and company policy. Assist OPS Manager in planning and installation of new equipment/process pipelines. Accountable for personal compliance with all company policies.
Job Requirements Include: High School Diploma/ GED Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and wear as normal duties Container Repair Experience Desired Proficient knowledge of MIG and GTAW welding processes
