These include emergency care, surgical services, lab work, primary and specialty care, imaging, spine health, womens and mens care, pediatric-friendly services, and moreall in one convenient location. The AdventHealth Winter Garden tower expansion will add 40 new progressive care unit beds, obstetrics and gynecology (including labor and delivery). One floor will be dedicated to labor and delivery, and will include nine labor, delivery, and recovery beds, 10 postpartum beds, two C-section operating rooms, and future space for a level two Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The towers expansion will also add space for more operating rooms, and a shell floor with capacity for 40 beds. The role youll contribute: The Clinical Pharmacist supports the mission of the department, hospital, and health-system by preventing, identifying, and resolving medication use issues to assure patient safety, improve patient satisfaction, optimize patient outcomes, and minimize costs. The role involves working in both centralized and decentralized areas, performing all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interactions with patients and the healthcare team, and technician supervision. This position is responsible for developing and providing clinical pharmacy services to the general patient population, supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure correct and timely medication dispensing and ensuring medication therapies are appropriate for patients based on a variety of factors. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist interprets prescriptions and medication orders, acts as a drug information resource, compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, and participates in patient care rounds and medication management. Responsibilities also include assisting with the daily operation of the pharmacy department, participating in performance improvement activities, educating staff, managing adverse drug events, participating in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and engaging in continuous professional development. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medications and maintain efficient pharmacy operations. The value youll bring to the team: Pharmacy Operations Actively performs all pharmacist functions, actively participates in established standard work parameters, and maintains functional proficiency in and actively provides coverage of central pharmacy and/or satellite areas as requested. Pharmacy Practice Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems. Clinical Pharmacy Services Actively participates in direct patient care programs and provides accurate, safe, timely, and appropriate medication therapy based on patient needs. Teamwork and Inter-professional Collaboration i) Presents to assigned areas on time and ready to work to ensure continuity of care between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas. Supports other pharmacy operations and areas outside of current assignment. Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient and demonstrates sensitivity to the perspective of the patient, caregiver, or health care colleague in all communications. ii) Participates in departmental meetings and educational activities as assigned. Supports practice advancement initiatives, clinical research projects, and stewardship initiatives led by colleagues and peers. Maintains professional image by participating in shared governance committees, if applicable.
