Touch-Up Operator
for a
second shift, contract-to-hire
opportunity in
Oldsmar, FL . This role is ideal for an experienced soldering technician with a strong background in fine pitch rework, post-reflow inspection, and IPC standards for surface mount technology (SMT) components.
Schedule: Shift : 2nd Shift Hours : Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (4/10 Schedule) Duration : 1-Year Contract-to-Hire
Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed
touch-up soldering
and
post-reflow repair
of printed circuit boards (PCBs) under a microscope Inspect for solder defects such as: Insufficient solder Shorts/bridges Poor wetting Tombstoned or misaligned components
Manually align surface mount and fine-pitch parts before soldering Use a microscope extensively for part placement verification and solder repair Read and interpret
complex assembly drawings
and
standard component identification Follow all applicable work instructions and maintain documentation Collaborate with team members in a
fast-paced, quality-driven
environment Utilize multiple
Windows-based applications
as part of the daily workflow
Mandatory Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience
in touch-up soldering of SMT/fine pitch components on PCBs Proficient with
IPC-610
and
IPC J-STD-001
requirements (certification preferred) Comfortable working under a microscope for extended periods Strong organizational and communication skills Basic computer literacy Must be able to
read and write English
and pass a
medical exam
per job requirements
Desired Skills: Previous experience in a
LEAN Manufacturing
environment Aptitude for
mentorship, training, or team leadership Ability to identify root causes of solder defects and suggest preventive measures
