Let's change the world. The Facilities and Engineering Department at Amgen Rhode Island is seeking an Undergrad Co-op for a 10-12 week assignment from September
November 2025. Reporting to a Manager of Maintenance, this position is responsible for performing tasks related to Electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site. Specific duties include: Gain experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain all major electrical equipment on site Taking part in improvement projects related to the electrical systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations at ARI Assist Amgen Electrical group in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner Assist Amgen Electrical group to ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall knowledge Collaborate with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network Here's what it takes to Win Minimum Education Required High School/GED Job Category Manufacturing Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The hardworking individual we seek is a great teammate with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 18 years or older Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent OR Currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree program with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing Enrolled in a full-time Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university Must not be employed at the time the internship starts Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op Preferred Qualifications Degree concentration(s) in Mechanical engineering technology, Electrical engineering technology, Electronics/instrumentation/controls systems and automation, Welding technology, HVAC/refrigeration, Plumbing/pipefitting or related field Knowledge and understanding of working in a highly regulated function Equipment troubleshooting skills Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems Ability to understand drawings P&ID's and equipment schematics and wiring diagrams Ability to follow written procedures and job instructions to operate and maintain systems and equipment Some of the vast rewards of working here As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates' professional and personal growth in addition to their well-being: The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
