Description Now interviewing for a

general surgery residency program director

to lead the development and implementation of a new general surgery residency program. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to be involved in a

groundbreaking program

within a large and recognized healthcare system.

The candidate must be

clinically active

with

current board certification in general surgery . They should have documented

educational and administrative experience

acceptable to the ACGME General Surgery Residency Review Committee. The ability to obtain a

Florida medical license

and a

medical staff appointment

is required.

Previous experience as a

core faculty member, Associate Program Director, or Program Director

in an

ACGME-accredited general surgery program

is required. Candidates should possess

excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills

and be

board-certified general surgeons or ABMS-certified subspecialists .

This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about

medical education, teaching, and mentoring . Responsibilities include

authority over and accountability for the overall operation

of the residency program, ensuring high-quality didactic and clinical education, and maintaining an environment conducive to resident learning across all ACGME competency areas.

This position offers an opportunity to provide

clinical medical educational leadership

while delivering surgical services within the healthcare system. The program director will receive protected administrative time to support program development.
