Main Purpose
Develop and support Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other laboratory quality systems. Investigate, test, and recommend new software solutions for existing or proposed processes. Evaluate and implement new applications and support ongoing effective utilization of applications. This is a global position, requiring collaboration with end users or colleagues across different time zones and occasionally outside normal working hours. Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Participate in opportunities to improve LIMS functionality and performance. Focus on meeting customer expectations with a customer service mindset. Meet with lab management to plan LIMS implementation, enhancements, and assess operational impacts and workflow changes. Develop and enhance LIMS, including requirements analysis, design, programming, configuration, upgrades/patches, documentation, custom reports, bug fixes, and training. Configure and support LIMS analysis, test lists, and static data. Create Crystal and Excel reports, data reports, Key Performance Indicator reports, and other reports to support laboratory functions. Assist in data retrieval from LIMS for analysis using queries and reporting tools. Support LIMS operations, including troubleshooting, configuration, administration, upgrades, documentation, bug fixes, and training. Participate in weekly on-call rotation. Perform other duties as needed. Key Working Relations
Reports to: StL data pipeline lead Interacts with: Data Science Team (StL and Bangalore), Data Engineers, Product Managers and Engineers, Data Scientists in IT and Business units, Key stakeholders in Biotech, other Labware LIMS developers Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, scientific discipline) with 3+ years of experience or Masters degree. Experience building and supporting LIMS with subject matter experts. Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle). Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset. 2-3 years experience with Labware LIMS Basic to create or modify enhancements. Knowledge of laboratory workflow and Quality Control principles is preferred. Desired experience in: agriculture, life sciences, bioinformatics, biochemistry, genetics, biology, or related fields. Experience with LabWare, LabVantage, and other LIMS platforms. Experience with RESTful API use and generation. Experience with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.). Experience creating Labware Crystal Reports.
