Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced
Employee Relations Consultant
to join our dynamic HR team in a
remote role with occasional on-site requirements . This is a high-impact position where you'll serve as an expert internal consultant, handling complex employee relations matters while supporting our mission of creating a welcoming and supportive work environment.
Key Details
Work Arrangement: Remote with occasional on-site visits for investigations and meetings Schedule: Primarily business hours with flexibility for 24/7 healthcare operations Location: Must be local to Dallas area for in-person investigations Reporting: Direct report to VP HR Consulting
What You'll Do
Expert Consultation & Risk Mitigation
Handle escalated employee relations matters and complex workplace issues Conduct thorough, objective investigations using sound investigative techniques Provide advanced consultation to managers on complex employee relations issues Make termination recommendations and collaborate with legal team when necessary Develop documentation for action plans and corrective measures
Investigation & Resolution
Lead sensitive workplace investigations with discretion and confidentiality Synthesize complex information into coherent reports and recommendations Facilitate interpersonal dialogue to reduce conflict and identify solutions Partner with internal and external legal counsel on critical cases
Strategic Partnership
Identify trends and collaborate with leaders to enhance leadership effectiveness Provide guidance on policy interpretation and employment law compliance Support employee intervention and access to assistance programs Contribute to organizational culture initiatives
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of employee relations experience OR significant management experience handling similar situations Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HR, Management, or related field preferred) Strong investigative abilities and analytical thinking Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently with guidance only in most complex situations Knowledge of employment law
Ideal Background
Employee relations or HR generalist experience Management experience with team leadership Investigative background Legal experience with employment matters HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
