Network Systems Administrator
is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role supports a range of technology systems across multiple locations, helping to maintain high availability and reliability for critical business applications and services. The position involves managing and supporting a variety of network and system components, including firewalls, wireless access points, switches, servers, and directory services. The administrator will also contribute to infrastructure projects such as new site setups, hardware upgrades, and technology deployments. This is a hands-on technical role suited to individuals with strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and experience supporting systems in dynamic, fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in networking, systems administration, and IT security practices, along with the ability to communicate effectively, document procedures clearly, and respond to issues with urgency and precision. The role also supports process improvement, system documentation, and compliance with internal IT policies and broader regulatory or audit requirements. Key Responsibilities: Network Support and Maintenance Administer and maintain core network components such as switches, firewalls, and wireless access points Monitor network health and respond to performance or connectivity issues Support network segmentation, configuration management, and traffic prioritization Systems Administration Administer servers and user directory systems Perform routine maintenance including software updates, patches, and backups Troubleshoot system-related issues and provide Tier 2/3 support Project Support Participate in technology rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and site deployments Help standardize and document IT procedures during system implementations Security and Compliance Apply IT security best practices and enforce policies aligned with organizational standards Support physical and logical security systems as needed Collaborate on security reviews, policy enforcement, and incident response Monitoring and Documentation Maintain current documentation of infrastructure components and system configurations Use monitoring tools to detect issues and trends proactively Participate in on-call support rotations and escalate critical incidents appropriately Professional Qualities: Service-focused and responsive to internal customers Committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement Maintains a high standard of integrity and reliability Able to adapt under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively Safety-conscious and compliance-minded Demonstrates ownership and accountability Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of relevant IT experience in network and/or systems administration Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN) Experience managing servers and user authentication systems Knowledge of IT security practices and compliance requirements Familiarity with system monitoring tools, backup solutions, and remote support tools Certifications such as Network+, Security+, or other relevant credentials are a plus Work may occur in office, operational, or technical environments Travel between company locations may be required Flexibility for after-hours work or on-call support during outages or maintenance events Please submit your resume and send to recruiters@vsearchgroup.com if you are interested.
