The Network Firewall Engineer provides modern engineering approaches for safeguarding IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for developing and deploying protective measures based on IT security policies and operational standards, on-premises and in the cloud. The Engineer works closely with IT team members to evaluate, design, implement, and document WAN, VPN, and internetworking solutions in line with business needs. Key Responsibilities: Conduct security event detection and threat analysis. Manage firewall and network security systems, enforcing rules and policies. Implement perimeter security changes based on requirements. Design, configure, manage, and troubleshoot various network firewall technologies, following industry best practices. Coordinate and troubleshoot with customers and support teams. Develop and maintain network security documentation. Monitor network performance and optimize as needed. Manage Palo Alto Global Protect VPN configurations. Plan and coordinate upgrades, patches, and new technologies. Maintain hardware inventory and perform system audits. Follow change management policies for network modifications. Provide troubleshooting and user support as needed. Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years in network security, with experience in designing and implementing Palo Alto firewalls and cloud firewalls in Microsoft Azure. College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; certifications are a plus. Skills and Abilities: Deep knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, high availability configurations, and troubleshooting. Strong prioritization and multitasking skills. Effective problem-solving and collaboration skills across IT and business teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Knowledge of AAA, firewall management tools like Panorama, and experience with A10 load balancers and Cisco networking is advantageous. Familiarity with security analysis tools and standards such as NIST and CIS Benchmarks. Understanding of network design, IP subnetting, routing, VLANs, and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform is beneficial. Additional Information: This role reports directly to IMS Management. The position involves handling sensitive information subject to export control laws, requiring verification of U.S. Person status or necessary licenses.
