Join to apply for the
Server System Architect
role at
Qualcomm . This position is based in the Qualcomm Data Center team, focusing on developing high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions for data centers. We are seeking talented, innovative individuals to join our cutting-edge technology work. About Qualcomm
We are dedicated to transforming the industry by reimagining silicon and developing next-generation computing platforms. Join our team to collaborate with world-class engineers and create solutions that push performance, energy efficiency, and scalability limits. Position: Server System Architect
This role involves leading the definition and implementation of boot flows, reset mechanisms, debug infrastructure, and diagnostic/recovery flows for a server-class SoC. You will develop architectural and microarchitectural solutions to ensure reliable and secure boot, recovery, and debug paths across multiple subsystems. This position requires a deep understanding of hardware, firmware, RAS, and security, working at the intersection of silicon and system-level flows. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in server SoC architecture, systems design, or related silicon development roles. Expertise in SoC reset, boot, recovery flows for mission and test modes. Strong knowledge of ARM SoC infrastructure components such as SMMU, GIC. Deep understanding of ARM CoreSight architecture, debug, and trace infrastructure (JTAG, ETM, PTM, STM, crash logs). Experience with hardware-firmware interaction, trust chains, fuse-based configurations, and system initialization. Proven ability to write architectural documentation and collaborate across teams. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with 15+ years of experience in semiconductor product development. Expertise in ARM architecture specs like MPAM, RAS. Experience with server SoCs and debug deployments. Knowledge of performance optimization and system MMU deployment for server SoCs. Understanding of server platform power sequencing, reset control, and bootloader chaining. Experience working with platform architects on chipset connectivity and multi-chiplet IO architecture. Contributions to industry standards (e.g., UEFI, ACPI, TCG). Key Responsibilities
Design boot and reset flows, including secure boot, recovery, and fault recovery. Develop crash dump strategies and logging architectures for post-mortem analysis. Collaborate on trust establishment, root of trust, and attestation during boot. Specify boot-time sequencing, reset domains, and fault isolation strategies. Work with various teams to ensure seamless boot and debug experiences. Lead firmware architecture development for early boot and crash capture. Create detailed architecture specifications, diagrams, and interface definitions. Minimum Experience
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years, or Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years of Systems Engineering experience. Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer. We support individuals with disabilities through accommodations during the application process. For assistance, contact disability-accomodations@qualcomm.com. We do not accept unsolicited resumes from staffing agencies.
