Position Summary
RELI Group is seeking an experienced Zero Trust Architect to support Task 8 of the Information Security and Privacy Services (ISPS) under the Marketplace System Security and Privacy Support Services (MSSPSS) contract. This position will provide expert leadership and design support for implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles across ACA and NST environments in accordance with CMS cybersecurity strategy and OMB guidance. The Zero Trust Architect will define strategy, lead technical implementation planning, and advise stakeholders on zero trust capabilities such as identity validation, micro-segmentation, data protection, and continuous monitoring.
Responsibilities
Define Zero Trust Architecture strategy for MSSPSS ISPS based on NIST 800-207, CMS ARS 5.0, and OMB M-22-09 Develop enterprise architecture artifacts including roadmaps, reference architectures, and capability models for ZTA adoption Advise on technical implementation of ZTA pillars: identity, device, network, application, data, and analytics Provide technical leadership for ZTA initiatives involving PAM, CDM, policy enforcement points, and secure access service edge (SASE) integrations Ensure alignment of ZTA with CMS security and privacy policies, threat models, and enterprise risk appetite Lead working sessions with stakeholders including CMS COR, ISSOs, ADOs, and system integrators Support audits and readiness assessments involving zero trust controls and FISMA metrics Collaborate with cybersecurity leads, ISSOs, and engineers to mature ZTA across partner systems and cloud environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years in Zero Trust design, architecture, or engineering Strong understanding of NIST 800-207, ARS 5.0, RMF, and federal ZTA implementation guidance Experience developing Zero Trust frameworks in federal, healthcare, or enterprise-scale environments Demonstrated success leading technical teams through implementation of secure access and segmentation strategies Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex architecture concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting CMS, CCIIO, or ACA-related IT programs Familiarity with identity federation, conditional access, endpoint posture enforcement, and data tagging Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Zero Trust Specialist designations Hands-on experience with ZTA technologies including SASE, SDP, SIEM, IAM/PAM, and micro segmentation tools Knowledge of cloud-native ZTA solutions within AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $170,000.00. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws.
