$99,486 - $128,747 Reports to:

Up to 20% (one day per week) Position Summary
As a key member of DPSCD’s Technology Infrastructure Department, the Network Engineer will handle network design, implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting of enterprise routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, VoIP, wireless networking, and system monitoring. Responsibilities include developing technical plans to ensure network security and efficiency, and identifying opportunities for improvement and expansion. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or relevant experience. Certifications:
CCNA (required), CCNP (desired), Network+ (required). Experience:
5+ years in switching, routing, WAN technologies, security, network design, Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, cloud networking, security protocols, TCP/IP, VoIP, wireless deployment, network tools, scripting, performance metrics, and support availability. Must have own transportation and ability to lift at least 25 lbs. Essential Functions
Designing secure networks, optimizing performance, providing support, conducting assessments, planning budgets, leading projects, supporting change management, mentoring staff, and maintaining industry knowledge. Responsibilities
Design and maintain secure network systems, document technical standards. Optimize and troubleshoot network issues, schedule upgrades. Provide advanced support for network solutions and respond to incidents. Perform security audits, system maintenance, and participate in planning and budgeting. Lead implementation projects, support change management, and develop policies and documentation. Mentor junior staff, support internal operations, and stay current with industry trends. Security Clearance
Current employees do not need a new clearance unless role changes. External hires require a criminal background check. Method of Application
