IT Network Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: None Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Continental US The Opportunity: Join a dynamic team supporting facilities operation and maintenance at the Technical Service Center (TSC) for FEMA's Integrated Public Alert and Warning (IPAWS) contract. Work as a Network Engineer focusing on LAN, government communications systems, and emerging technologies. Contribute to maintaining FEMA structures and ensuring successful project delivery. Based at the Naval Support Facility, Indian Head, MD. Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, and modify hardware and software systems for TSC operations. Present ideas for system improvements with cost estimates for upgrades. Manage project implementation and maintenance of hardware and software. Assess proposed software and hardware changes and conduct impact analysis. Develop software training guides for NPWS personnel. Manage IT integration and maintenance activities for the National Public Warning System, including configuration and cybersecurity. Identify, research, and procure telecommunications equipment as directed. Maintain availability to support 24/7 operations as needed. Test and evaluate the operational and functional capabilities of selected software and hardware technologies. Support the TSC Project Manager in ensuring successful project delivery. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of IT network and/or equipment integration experience. Industry experience in Emergency Management. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and project management software. Understanding of the National Response Framework (NRF) and National Incident Management System (NIMS). Strong blend of leadership, technical expertise, and emergency management knowledge. Equipment integration planning and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain and present new Alert, Warning and Notification (AWN) technology concepts. In-depth knowledge of the National Public Warning System (NPWS) and associated telecommunications systems. Desired: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
