POSITION SUMMARY:

This role involves performing intermediate technical administrative support under supervision, including clerical tasks, data entry, document management, and reviewing and redacting body worn camera footage.

***This is a State Authorized Exempt position and is ineligible for collective bargaining membership.***

STARTING SALARY:

$55,808 annually / $26.83 hourly

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This position involves senior secretarial or routine paralegal work, possibly with supervisory duties, supporting legal staff or a Circuit Court Judge, including legal research, preparing documents, and confidential work.

Responsibilities include reviewing police body worn and dash camera footage daily, identifying legal issues, redacting sensitive content, and preparing legal documents.

It does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree, three years of related experience or equivalent, and preferred certifications such as a paralegal certificate and knowledge of courtroom procedures.

Physical demands include sitting, handling objects, speaking, occasional standing and walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and visual requirements.

Skills required include reading and interpreting technical documents, writing reports, and basic math, with a focus on legal and technical proficiency. Certifications include a paralegal certificate, NCIC certification, and access to the Howard County Police Department's Record Management System.
