What You'll Do This position is located at our Corporate Office: 2355 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027. The Data Governance Lead will play a key role in developing and executing the credit union's data governance strategy. Responsibilities include: Leading the Data Governance Council, coordinating efforts across departments such as Data Analytics, Information Security, Risk & Compliance, Legal, and Technology. Developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and accessibility. Identifying gaps in current data policies, quality, ownership, and compliance; driving initiatives to address them. Partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to ensure regulatory adherence. Collaborating with Data and Infrastructure teams to evaluate and implement governance tools and platforms. Working with Data Stewards and business units to enforce policies, monitor compliance, and resolve issues. Supporting change management and training to promote data literacy and accountability. Maintaining a centralized policy and metadata repository. Staying updated on industry trends in data governance. Providing regular reports on governance progress and performance metrics. Position grades may vary based on market value. What You Bring High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. 5-8 years of experience in data governance or management required. Experience in financial services or regulated environments preferred. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata, data quality, and compliance. Experience leading cross-functional teams or councils. Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of relevant regulations and data security standards. DCAM, CDMP, or similar certifications required. We value potential, passion, and purpose.
