Work Shift Job Description The Division Director of Business Development for Post-Acute Services will lead the strategic growth and referral development efforts across a division encompassing one Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), one Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), and one Swing Bed Unit. This high-impact role provides executive oversight of referral management, market development, and service line enhancement across the post-acute continuum. The Director will develop and implement a comprehensive divisional strategy to position each entity for sustainable census growth and performance in alignment with system goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Growth Planning

Develop and execute a comprehensive divisional business development strategy for post-acute services. Partner with entity leadership to align local initiatives with division-wide objectives. Identify new market opportunities, service gaps, and pathways for service line expansion across IRF, SNF, and swing bed.

Referral Management Oversight

Design and optimize referral workflows to support efficient and timely conversion of appropriate referrals. Implement systems for tracking and reporting referral source performance, conversion metrics, and market trends. Lead and develop teams responsible for intake coordination, outreach, and hospital/physician partner engagement.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Direct business development personnel and liaisons supporting each post-acute entity. Foster strong collaboration across nursing, therapy, case management, and discharge planning teams to drive results. Provide coaching, performance metrics, and development strategies to support team engagement and success.

Program Enhancement & Service Line Expansion

Evaluate current services and collaborate with entity leaders to enhance or redesign offerings that align with referral source and patient needs. Support implementation of new or enhanced services that position post-acute entities for growth and differentiation.

Relationship Management & Community Engagement

Build and sustain effective relationships with hospitals, referral sources, payers, and community partners. Represent post-acute services in regional system initiatives and community outreach to promote awareness and access.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor and report on KPIs including admissions, referral conversion, length of stay, and service utilization. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership based on performance data.

Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare business development or post-acute operations, with a proven track record in multi-site or divisional leadership. Strong knowledge of IRF, SNF, and swing bed operations, including regulatory and financial frameworks preferred. Demonstrated success in referral development, program expansion, and cross-functional leadership. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
