Summary
The Health Information Management (HIM) Director is responsible for the strategic vision and provides organizational leadership of the health information management services across the multi-facility integrated healthcare system. Leads and drives change to ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies. Collaborates with organizational leadership and medical staff to promote best practices and provide organizational oversight of electronic health record.
Responsibilities
Develops strategy, plans, and leads initiatives that impacts the business models and align with company vision/overall goals Responsible for developing, operationalizing, and monitoring best practices and integrity of the electronic health record throughout the organization, including affiliates, leading to the compliant, and timely completion to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care This leader, in collaboration with the organizational leadership, manages the planning and operational direction of Health Information Management for the organization. This leader, in collaboration with direct-report managers, is responsible for the coordination and administration of the Health Information Management ensuring organizational performance is in alignment with the short term and long-term goals of the organization Provides oversight of the development of standardized policies, procedures, and practices related Health Information Management Develops and monitors overall KPIs and other metrics Provides Health Information Management expertise and direction to other departments, medical staff, and other providers. Participate in and coordinate committee functions related to medical records health information systems; participate in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required. Serves as subject matter expert for organizational strategic projects Initiates, designs, leads, executes, and manages projects associated with health information management Maintains strategic and tactical working relationships, and actively shares and collaborate

How Youll Be Successful:
Work Experience
At least 5 years Health Information Management experience Required
EDUCATION
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Records Technician (RRT) Required
