Across all levels, the registered Virtual Nurse/Nursing Care Partner is responsible for the indirect nursing care of their assigned patients. The position requires knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, are inherent. The ability to retrieve, communicate, or present information in written, auditory, or visual formats is essential. The primary method of communication is spoken, with additional skills in written, telephone, and manual dexterity. The Virtual Nurse/Nursing Care Partner collaborates with healthcare team members and communicates with patients via remote technology to provide goal-directed care. Tasks include patient admission assessments, education, and discharge teaching via remote technology. Education
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Experience
Two years of nursing/patient care in an acute care setting required; five years preferred. Certification/Licensure
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or in a Compact State; BLS certification required. ACLS or PALS cards are acceptable in lieu of BLS if current, per American Heart Association guidelines. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Computer skills with typing speed of 60+ WPM, basic dysrhythmia knowledge preferred, proficiency with EHR systems such as EPIC preferred. Additional Details
