Manager of Accounting

to handle our accounting operations. This role is responsible for taking care of day to day accounting needs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, ensuring accounting processes are efficient and meet generally accepted accounting standards, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, is detail oriented, and has a proactive mindset. Currently, our team has a staff of five full-time employees. This position will work a hybrid schedule, with some days fully remote and some days in the BOMA office located downtown Seattle in the US Bank Centre: 1420 Fifth Ave, Seattle, WA 98101. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will be a team player, personable, reliable, detail-oriented, organized, resourceful, able to multitask, and able to prioritize. Scope of Work The position will function in the following ways: Accounting oMembership Dues: Accept payments, track payments, and follow-up on outstanding payments. oAccounts Payable oAccounts Receivable and Aging A/R (30/60/90) Accounting Reports: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements oAnnual Audit: Oversee the annual audit of BOMA Seattle’s bookkeeping with auditor Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Maintain internal controls and accounting policies Daily tasks can include batching invoices and receivables from the BOMA website, collecting payments, following up on accounting questions, depositing mail, etc. Administration Scheduling: maintaining the office calendar and managing Outlook reminders for membership meetings Office support: inventory, organization and overall tidiness of shared spaces and cleaning up after member meetings and other office clean-up tasks. Database management: record keeping, filing assistance and website updates Networking Event support: registration management, planning and execution support Specialty projects throughout the year The person selected for this position will attend and participate in many BOMA events, functions, and education sessions. This person will meet with BOMA members (professionals in commercial real estate – office buildings etc.) and learn about their businesses and the commercial real estate industry. BOMA is a 501(c)(6) organization doing business in Seattle since 1912.BOMA membership includes nearly 2,000 commercial real estate professionals and suppliers of goods and services from some 270 firms. Qualifications Required: ·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ·3+ years of experience ·Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop) ·Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred: ·CPA or CMA certification ·Experience with nonprofit accounting ·Experience with a database management/AMS system How to Apply To apply for this position, please send your resume with a cover letter to cori.t@bomaseattle.org by Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
