Working across Australia and New Zealand, we specialise in providing offshore personnel and logistics solutions. Our Client Prosafe are looking for an experienced Chief Officer to join them in Australia for their upcoming project on a highly advanced and efficient DP3 semi-submersible ASV. Managment: Responsible for the safe and efficient management of the Marine Department. Where necessary, Chief Officer shall deputise for the Master/OIM. When Vessel is operating in Dynamic Positioning Mode the Chief Officer may perform the additional role of Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO) when on watch. Perform active leadership in close cooperation with Master/OIM and other department leaders. Actively involve him/ herself in HR tasks that include; assessment and appraisal interviews, sick leave follow-up, general personnel collaboration and keep a close dialog with shore based management about the same. Overall responsibility for the Marine Department operation. HSEQ & Emergency Response Appointed as the Ship Security Officer (SSO) on the vessel Appointed as stand-in for the Medic in case of illness when in Operation on Norwegian continental shelf. Strong working knowledge of the IMS and be able to navigate it efficiently and effectively and follow the requirements contained within. Will actively seek to stay updated with new versions of relevant documents Take action upon any HSSEQ matter brought to their notice, and report to their Manager on any matter which they are unable to rectify. Participate in and promote the use of the Company Safety Observation System. Coordination and monitoring of Sub-Contractor activities, interfaces and the associated risks from work conducted under their area of responsibility. Ensure that the workforce for which they have responsibility are adequately trained, competent and authorised for the operations which they are required to perform. Take command of the Emergency Command and Control Team in the event of incapacity of the Master/OIM. Manage action to take in event of flooding/ damage stability incident. Assist in co-ordination and participate in emergency response exercises and drills. Operational & Technical Compliance with the Company Integrated Management System including reporting as necessary. Has the authority and responsibility to take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of life, property and preservation of the environment without the presence of the Master/OIM. Senior Watchkeeping Officer responsible for safe navigation of the Vessel when on conventional watches. As necessary act as SDPO when operating in DP ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Operation of the Vessel and all equipment in accordance with Company procedures, safe limits and any contract specific terms. Implementation and monitoring of the Company Integrated Management System including motivation of the crew and reporting. Planning and organisation of the day to day Deck Crew activities including additional contract related services such as Helideck/ FRB crew. Responsible for all stability calculations, ballasting operations, operational and lightweight control. Responsible Person and Isolating Authority for deck equipment/operations under Permit to Work system. Responsible Person under the Permit to Work System for all work carried out by contractors or client personnel where the work is to be performed within the Marine Department. Control and disposal of waste in accordance with the Vessel Garbage Management Plan. Management and control of COSHH database. Oversees maintenance of all lifesaving, firefighting appliances as required by statute. Management of all lifting operations performing the role of Operational Responsible Person in accordance with Company Lifting Operations procedure and ensures that the lifting appliances are managed in accordance with this procedure. Ensure that helicopter operations are conducted in a safe manner according to procedures. Ensure that all employees within Marine Department are given necessary introduction/instructions and training (including 3rd party personnel). Compliance with Material Handling Plan. ·With assistance from the Deck Supervisor, the Chief Officer shall ensure that the Deck Stores are stocked with adequate supplies of spares and consumables, particularly safety critical elements pertaining to the Marine Department, with proper stock taking and signing out of items, and that stores areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition. Responsible for Marine Department files and drawings update. Responsible for ordering of spares and consumables for Marine Department. Managing and planning the crew and equipment for anchor handling operations and mooring operations entering and leaving port. Take action in accordance with the Company disciplinary procedures for those who are negligent in failing to follow established company codes, guidelines, procedures and expectations, including misuse of equipment provided for their health and safety. CoC as per STCW Regulation II/2 (Chief Mates Unlimited) & STCW IV/2 (GMDSS) DP Certificate (unlimited) issued by the Nautical Institute (for DP operation) STCW Accredited Ship Security Officer Certification Offshore medical acceptable to sector of operation and STCW medical certificate BOSIET/CA-EBS Full Australian Working rights Preferably 1 year experience as Chief Officer on a similar type of vessel or 2 years’ experience as SDPO on a similar type of vessel (for DP vessels).
