Job Summary

We are seeking an

engaging and experienced General Manager (GM)

to lead our team and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple departments at our South OKC facility. In this role, you will be the operational heartbeat of Skulls Unlimited—coordinating everything from supply chain and warehouse logistics to e-commerce fulfillment, customer service, and even the skull cleaning & cadaver processing labs. The GM will ensure that all these moving parts work in sync to deliver high-quality products and experiences to our customers, including universities, museums, researchers, and collectors. This is a hands-on leadership role in a one-of-a-kind business; if you’re an operations leader who can roll up your sleeves (perhaps even handle a skull or two) and foster a fun, collaborative team, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Lead Multi-Department Operations: Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across supply chain, warehouse, e-commerce, customer service, skull cleaning, and cadaver processing departments. Ensure all departments collaborate effectively and operate smoothly as one cohesive unit. Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Oversee procurement of specimens and supplies, and manage inventory levels. Coordinate an efficient supply chain from sourcing raw specimens to delivering finished products, upholding our strict ethical sourcing standards at all times. Warehouse & Fulfillment: Manage warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving processes. Ensure that orders—from individual skulls to large museum-quality skeletons—are picked, packaged, and shipped with accuracy and care, meeting quality standards and delivery deadlines. E-Commerce & Retail Oversight: Supervise our e-commerce platform to optimize online order processing workflows, update product logistics for the website, and collaborate with the e-commerce team to enhance customer experience. Customer Service Excellence: Oversee the customer service team to guarantee prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Handle escalations or unique customer requests (we get some interesting ones!) with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach. Skull Cleaning & Processing Supervision: Work closely with the skull cleaning and cadaver processing staff to ensure safe, efficient, and sanitary processing of specimens. While you won’t be cleaning skulls yourself every day, you’ll set protocols, maintain safety standards, and troubleshoot workflow issues in the cleaning labs as needed. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency across all operations. Implement process improvements—whether it’s optimizing the beetle-cleaning workflow or improving warehouse pick/pack procedures—to increase productivity and reduce costs without sacrificing quality. Team Development & Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team of department supervisors and staff. Foster a positive, inclusive work environment with a “family” feel—teamwork, open communication, and employees who are willing to jump in and help outside their job titles. Lead by example with a hands-on approach, and promote a culture of safety, respect, and continuous learning. Strategic Planning & Coordination: Work closely with the company owners/executives (including our founder) to develop operational strategies and budgets. Provide regular updates on departmental performance, and contribute to long-term planning (e.g., scaling operations, expanding product lines, or improving facilities) in alignment with our mission and growth goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 10+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or general management roles, preferably in a production, manufacturing, or multi-department environment. Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and operational workflows. Leadership: Strong leadership and people-management skills. Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members at all levels. Experience leading hands-on, small to mid-sized teams (our company has a close-knit “all hands on deck” culture). Operational Expertise: Deep knowledge of operations and logistics best practices—from supply chain management and inventory control to warehouse optimization and fulfillment. E-commerce experience is a plus (familiarity with online order fulfillment, shipping carriers, inventory software, etc.). Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and project management abilities. Capable of juggling multiple priorities (you’ll be overseeing several departments) and keeping projects on schedule. Attention to detail is critical, given the precision required in handling scientific specimens and orders. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Able to think on your feet to resolve operational bottlenecks, quality issues, or unexpected challenges. Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to collaborate with staff from the warehouse to the lab to the front office, and comfortably communicate with external partners or customers when needed. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree). Ongoing learning or certifications in operations/supply chain management are a bonus. Cultural Fit: A positive, energetic attitude and a sense of adventure! You must be comfortable working around animal and human skeletal remains in various stages of processing (all within OSHA standards and with proper protective gear). If you have a genuine interest in science, education, or unusual industries, that’s a plus and will help you connect with our mission. We’re looking for someone who will embrace our quirky, collaborative culture and help lead our “skull crew” by example.

Work Environment

Schedule & Location: This is a full-time, in-person position at our headquarters in South Oklahoma City. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility needed to meet operational demands. Physical Setting: You’ll split time between an office setting and the warehouse/production floor. Our facility includes corporate offices, a warehouse, and dedicated skull processing areas (including the dermestid beetle room and processing labs adjacent to the Museum of Osteology). Expect to move around—one minute you might be in a meeting, and the next you’re out in the warehouse or checking on a cleaning project in the lab. Hands-On Culture: We have a hands-on, all-hands culture. Even as the General Manager, you won’t be stuck behind a desk all day—you’ll actively engage with the team on the floor, help solve problems on-site, and occasionally get your hands dirty (protective gear provided!). This is not a stuffy office job; our work can be messy or odorous at times (think biological specimens), but we all pitch in because we’re passionate about the outcome.

Team Atmosphere:

Expect a family-like team atmosphere where everyone knows each other. We celebrate curiosity and have fun with our work (you might find the office decorated with bone puns and Halloween comes year-round here). We value professionalism and hard work, but we also appreciate the unique personality of our workplace—it’s science-driven and slightly quirky, and we love that!
