Drupal Content Strategist – Search (SEO)
to lead the content, search, and discoverability strategy across our Drupal-based digital ecosystem. This role combines
structured content planning
,
search engine optimization
, and
Apache Solr tuning
to enhance both the creation of content and its discoverability by users. Content Strategy (Drupal-focused): Design and implement content strategy aligned with Drupal CMS best practices, including structured content, taxonomy, and editorial governance. Lead iteration of content models and reusable components to support scalability and maintainability. Facilitate workshops on content architecture, metadata, and API-based content services. Ensure consistency of voice, accessibility, and user experience across all content. Work closely with Agile teams to translate strategic goals into sprint-ready content requirements. Search Strategy & Optimization (SEO) Own and execute the holistic search strategy across organic search (SEO) and on-site search (Solr). Optimize content discoverability by aligning keyword research with metadata, content structure, and internal linking strategies. Configure and fine-tune Apache Solr for accurate indexing, relevance scoring, and enhanced search experiences (e.g., filters, facets, synonyms). Define and maintain SEO best practices across platforms, ensuring alignment during CMS migrations and redesigns. Collaborate with developers to resolve content indexing issues and improve Solr performance. Monitor and analyze search performance using tools such as Google Search Console, SiteImprove, Solr logs, and GA4. Identify and address issues in content feeds, indexing, and user behavior through regular audits and testing. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in content strategy, digital content, or SEO. Strong working knowledge of Drupal CMS (preferably versions 9/10), including content models and editorial workflows. Hands-on experience with Apache Solr configuration and optimization for content-heavy websites. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute SEO strategies, including keyword planning, metadata optimization, and reporting. Familiarity with analytics and SEO tools (Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, SiteImprove, Screaming Frog). Ability to work effectively in Agile teams and collaborate across disciplines. Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
