The Relationship Manager (RM) role at Trove bridges our core administrative financial services with a heightened focus on client relationship management through delivery of key strategies and solutions —similar to the responsibilities found in a Relationship management role at financial services. This role is designed to cultivate trust, enrich service delivery, and act as the primary liaison between families and our technical specialists. An exceptional RM views themselves as a true Client Advocate, drawing on broad expertise and holistic thinking to deliver thoughtful, customized solutions. The position emphasizes outstanding client service, strategic oversight, cross-functional team coordination, and business development—all thoughtfully tailored to the distinct priorities of high-net-worth families. 1. Client Service & Relationship Management Establish and maintain trusted advisory relationships with clients, consistently upholding the core values of responsiveness, precision, transparent communication, and proactive problem-solving. Gain a deep understanding of each client’s unique needs and preferences, adjusting service delivery to provide a consistently exceptional experience. Develop and nurture strong professional relationships with clients, their advisors, and key centers of influence, using personalized communication to reinforce trust and engagement. Anticipate client needs, resolve issues proactively, and offer tailored internal and external solutions that exceed expectations and build lasting satisfaction. 2. Advocate for Core Financial Services Partner closely with technical teams to ensure that Accounting & Bill Pay services are executed with precision, timeliness, and in alignment with fiduciary responsibilities and internal standards. Provide strategic feedback to drive process improvements that enhance the client experience. Maintain active communication with internal teams to reinforce best practices and uphold strong internal controls, always with the client's best interests in mind. Collaborate with the review and refinement of financial reports—such as cash flow statements and executive summaries—to ensure they are clear, client-friendly, and delivered in a timely manner, offering real value to each family’s financial picture. Lead and support junior team members, including Relationship Associates, by fostering a collaborative culture rooted in high performance, mutual respect, and continuous learning. Delegate responsibilities strategically to balance workloads, ensure timely execution, and empower team members with opportunities for growth and increased autonomy. Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback and ongoing coaching in both technical competencies and interpersonal skills, ensuring alignment of team efforts with broader client objectives and organizational goals. 4. Strategic Engagement & Business Development Maintain a clear view of the broader context of client relationships, ensuring alignment between service offerings, family objectives, and overall firm strategy. Proactively identify opportunities to expand the scope of services—such as lifestyle support or tax planning—and partner with leadership to bring those enhancements to life. Contribute to business development initiatives by attending industry events, cultivating relationships with advisors, and strengthening the firm’s network to support client growth. 5. Professional Excellence Exhibit a forward-thinking, strategic mindset that aligns with and champions the firm’s long-term direction, while actively identifying and supporting opportunities for process improvement. Consistently uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct to reinforce the firm’s standing as a trusted partner to clients. Commit to continuous learning by pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., CFP) and engaging in industry education to remain well-informed on emerging trends and best practices within the family office space. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, creative problem-solving and decision making, team collaboration and strong relationship-building capabilities. Hard Skills: Expertise in financial reporting, excellence in written communication, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and proficiency with core software platforms (e.g., QBO/QBD, Sage, Bill.com, Microsoft Office Suite). Performance Metrics Success in this role is measured by client satisfaction, client retention, expansion of engagement scope, and positive contribution to overall engagement profitability. Growth Path Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and business development achievements can pave the way for advancement to Senior Manager and Director-level roles. Ideal Candidate Profile Holds a bachelor’s degree; professional certifications (e.g., CFP) are strongly preferred. Brings experience from family office or Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) environments, with a proven track record in high-touch, client-facing roles. Skilled at managing complexity, leading teams, and balancing technical oversight with deep relationship management.
