Engineering and Maintenance Manager

Job DescriptionJob Description Messina Talent is seeking to hire an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for a direct hire career opportunity. Responsibilities Lead and develop the site’s maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and contractors. Oversee all maintenance activities including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum uptime and regulatory compliance. Manage the site’s utility systems (e.g., wastewater treatment, fire suppression, compressed air), ensuring high reliability and cost control. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards including OSHA, EPA, PSM, and ISO 9001. Plan, manage, and execute capital projects, including budgeting, CAR submission, scheduling, and implementation. Support DCS/PLC system maintenance and troubleshooting in collaboration with engineering and operations teams. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and uptime. Lead contractor oversight and the site’s contractor management program. Partner with other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, safety, and quality. Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering management, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment. Capital project management experience (>$100K projects ). Strong working knowledge of PSM, EHS, and ISO 9001 systems. Experience with DCS/PLC systems and process control environments.
