is currently seeking a dedicated

Reliability Engineer

to join our team at the Tacoma, WA facility. As a key leader, you will play a crucial role in driving our team toward success while maintaining a safe and incident-free environment in our fast-paced plant. With approximately 145 full-time employees, our union facility offers a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

What You Will Do

Safety and Environment: Create and foster an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health, and Safety. Lead a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership through a principled-based approach. Leadership and Training: Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of safety, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability, and productivity. Assist maintenance management in identifying skill-gaps and facilitating the upskilling for maintenance employees. Enable training for precision maintenance practices through identified training opportunities. Reliability and Maintenance: Manage reliability activities to improve equipment availability based on industry best practices for rotating/reciprocating machinery, electrical and instrumentation systems, and pressure vessels/piping systems. Lead efforts to identify, investigate, recommend, and implement equipment improvements, new systems, and process changes that will improve productivity, yield, quality, and/or reduce costs. Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, and service teams to understand failure modes and effects and develop mitigation plans; prioritize and develop action plans for our reliability-centered maintenance system. Collaborate with other leaders to develop, prioritize, and execute strategies that improve the site's competitiveness in aspects of plant operating cost, volume, and yield by utilizing Agile and Lean processes. Project Coordination: Ensure systems and resources are in place for inspection, restoration, quality assurance, and testing of systems in accordance with regulations and best practices. Coordinate execution of small projects and projects related to equipment reliability improvement.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

A minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility. Experience in reliability or mechanical integrity in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Effective working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn various PC-based production and maintenance reporting systems. Experience utilizing Root Cause Failure Analysis strategies. Able to read mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings. Experience in leading improvement efforts in Maintenance Reliability, and Predictive and Preventive Maintenance.

What Will Put You Ahead

A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Industrial Management or in a technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. Five (5) or more years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with capital project management and continuous improvement methods. CMMS System experience (e.g., SAP, MP2, ActivePlant). Vibration training/qualifications. Certification or continued education in reliability applications, practices, and management. Knowledgeable in the areas of PLCs, conveyor systems, breakers, combustion systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in welding, machining, industrial design, and equipment rigging. Six Sigma experience or certification. Experience managing a site mechanical integrity inspection program. Gypsum or building products manufacturing knowledge.

For this role, we anticipate paying $115,000 - $130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
