Direct message the job poster from Sepragen Corporation TJob Title: Sr. Process Controls Engineer FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt Schedule: Minimum 50 hours/week; occasional weekends and domestic/international Location: Must self-relocate, be willing to commute, and have reliable transportation Reports to: COO What You’ll Do The Senior Process Controls Engineer plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for cutting-edge biotech equipment used in the production of biologics and vaccines. Primary responsibilities include: Design and implement PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Sequential Function Charts) based on functional requirements. Configure I/O assignments, program interlocks, set points, alarms, and PID loops. Develop Functional Control Specifications (FCS) and integrate PLCs with HMI systems. Create Sequence of Operations (SOO), communications interface specs, and test plans. Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Installation Qualification (IQ), and Operational Qualification (OQ). Write operation manuals, troubleshooting guides, and provide necessary documentation Specify and select instrumentation; layout and configure control panels, I/O modules, VFDs, relays, and low-voltage systems (4-20mA, 0-10V, 24VDC). Participate in internal design reviews and present progress to clients. Support legacy systems and troubleshoot deployed systems as needed. Provide occasional field support for installed equipment. Additional responsibilities as required. What You’ll Bring BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science 7+ years of experience in controls engineering, preferably with biotech, automation, or electromechanical systems 33470 Western Ave, Union City, CA 94587 Tel: (510) 475-0650 Fax: (510) 475-0625 Logic, SFC, and Function Block Proficiency in I/O logic for analog/digital signals, alarms, interlocks, events, and calibration Experience with database integrations and PID tuning Familiarity with communication protocols (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CANbus, Modbus, ProfiBus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) OPC UA and SCADA/DCS communication experience VFD selection, sizing, and tuning proficiency Strong documentation skills (URS, P&IDs, DQ, Test Plans, Traceability Matrices) AutoCAD proficiency in developing process, pneumatic, and fluid schematics Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); project tracking tools like Excel, Project, Trello, or Jira Excellent communication skills and ability to manage timelines independently and in a team setting What You’ll Get Join a high-performing team of engineers and contribute to meaningful biotech innovations.
