Financial Analyst III
performs a variety of analytical and financial tasks, including developing business plans, preparing budgets and financial statements, monitoring budget variances, and producing ad hoc reports. This role supports external business analytics projects to provide data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making and operational improvements. The analyst leverages statistical methods, modeling, and data visualization tools to create dashboards, reports, and models that support SVMD’s initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with large data sets, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights. This role requires collaboration across departments to ensure the organization’s financial and operational objectives are met. Essential Functions: The essential functions listed below are representative of the work performed in this role. Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet SVMD’s performance expectations. Coordinate the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. Act as a liaison between Finance and department managers for financial performance and budget variance reporting. Develop and maintain financial and operational reports, tracking key performance metrics by practice. Prepare executive-level reports and presentations. Collaborate with leadership to develop quarterly, semi-annual, and annual performance tracking reports. Work with IT and leadership teams to develop and maintain performance dashboards. Support due diligence for medical practice acquisitions by: Gathering and validating data from prospective practices. Conducting detailed assessments of productivity, revenue, and expenses, benchmarking against industry standards. Develop business plans for existing and new ventures, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and market viability. Perform complex data extractions, calculations, and ad hoc analyses to support business decisions. Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, managers, senior leaders, and physicians/providers, fostering a collaborative work environment. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, decision support, business analytics, or a related field, preferably in healthcare. Experience in developing and maintaining financial models, dashboards, and business intelligence reports. Prior experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with medical practice financials, is highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Analytical Skills:
Strong ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Financial Acumen:
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking. Data Visualization & Reporting:
Proficiency in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar for creating dashboards and reports. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling), SQL, and financial systems (e.g., Workday, Epic, or similar). Project Management:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and provide high-quality deliverables. Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration:
Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, finance, operations, and IT teams. Work Environment: Hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and on-site work as needed. Standard office setting with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending meetings. Preferred: Experience in a start-up organization
