Northwestern University The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Responsibilities include the development of an independent research program in computational pathology that includes digital pathology, clinical, and molecular data. High priority will be given to investigators that have an interest in developing machine learning approaches for digital pathology to provide clinical decision support in Pathology or for multimodal analysis of digital pathology images with spatially resolved omics or multiplex imaging. In addition to their independent research program, the successful candidate would engage in collaborations with other researchers at Northwestern, especially within the Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Comprehensive Transplant Center. There will be opportunities to participate in graduate student, medical student and resident/fellow teaching and mentoring, as well as service on department, school or university committees.
Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. and/or an MD and have an outstanding track record in computational approaches to biomedical research.
Facilities: The Pathology Department includes over 75 clinical faculty and 19 research faculty conducting research in inflammation, immunology, cancer, neuropathology, and computational pathology. Our healthcare system includes 7 medical laboratories spread over the Chicago area, handling over 120,000 cases annually. Our system is transitioning to digital pathology and has integrated enterprise data warehouse, storage, and computational facilities to leverage data generated within the pathology labs for research. The candidate will have access to university and departmental core facilities for generating multimodal data including single cell sequencing, spatial sequencing, multiplex immunofluorescence, and cutting-edge microscopy imaging technologies. The department has strong research collaborations across Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
