Lab Operations Team

for a

Supervisor, Lab Specimen Processing . Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday. Tuesday - Friday 6am start. Saturday 9am start. The Lab Specimen Processor Supervisor is responsible for managing the Lab Specimen Processor staff and the pre-analytical functions of specimen opening, lab support, test entry, aliquoting, centrifugation, batching and racking to ensure that all operational procedures and processes are followed including regulatory compliance within the laboratory. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the day-to-day activities of the Lab Specimen Processors including time and attendance, work schedules, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Plan, coordinate and supervise all functions within the laboratory including specimen opening, lab support, test entry, aliquoting, centrifugation, batching and racking. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and mentoring for all staff through regularly scheduled one-on-ones. Initiate and conduct progressive disciplinary processes when appropriate; involve HR as needed. Responsible for training, scheduling, budgeting, supply maintenance, and coordination with department administration and additional laboratory staff. Ensure services are accurate and efficient, complying with current accreditation standards. Maintain awareness of safety issues and ensure a safe working environment at all times. Understand the flow of specimens through the lab and identify process improvements. Monitor employee productivity and minimize overtime. Be knowledgeable of CAP regulatory requirements and other clinical laboratory audits. Ensure staff training and competencies are met. Ensure equipment and printer preventive maintenance and promptly report issues. Maintain audit readiness and follow up on regulatory visits. Assist during inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Complete and organize Laboratory Occurrence Management forms for anomalies and implement corrective actions. Review and approve employee timecards daily. Interview prospective employees. Participate in organizational meetings and provide feedback. Review and approve SOPs, ensuring they are current. Support the development and growth of leads. Maintain understanding of HIPAA laws and confidentiality requirements. SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Remain adaptable to evolving needs, pursue ongoing education, and perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

EDUCATION

High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. EXPERIENCE

1-3 years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical lab, biotech, or manufacturing industry preferred. Experience managing a large staff (25+) preferred. Lab experience preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Standing (20%), sitting (20%), walking (60%), lifting up to 20 lbs. Ability to read SOPs and perform related tasks. Perform calculations and use judgment for deviations. Effective communication skills, including public speaking. Additional Physical & Mental Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress. Extended work hours as needed. Low risk of tuberculosis exposure with screening available. Benefits

HIRING RANGE:
