Tesla . About the Role
Tesla is re-thinking how batteries are made from the ground up. We’re designing new factories, equipment, processes, and software to scale battery manufacturing globally. Our focus is on innovating in-house with world-class engineers to redefine the industry, leveraging software, data, and automation. We’ve built software from scratch to meet Tesla’s rapid battery manufacturing scale-up. This software tracks every component of the cell manufacturing process and acts as the brain of the entire factory, ensuring safety and process improvement. The platform facilitates end-to-end manufacturing data collection, aiming to gather more manufacturing data than any other company. Team Responsibilities
The Cell Software team develops solutions to redefine manufacturing and production, focusing on software advances, distributed fault-tolerant computing, and modern user experiences across Tesla’s manufacturing systems. What You’ll Do
Own and define architecture for large parts of our battery factory software, designing fault-tolerant, distributed, and adaptive systems. Solve large-scale computing problems to handle extensive data sets. Provide technical leadership within the Cell Software team. Develop backend code for new features benefiting engineers and manufacturing staff. Write reliable, well-tested code that impacts Tesla’s bottom line. Collaborate with Controls Engineers and Operators to develop automation systems and process flows. Create tools, automate tests, and document processes. Respond promptly to manufacturing process change requests. What You’ll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional ability. 2+ years experience with web fundamentals like HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and asynchronous programming. Experience scaling systems for large data volumes and throughput. Understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, and eventual consistency. Proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Java, C, C++, or C#. Experience with modern web frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular. Experience designing APIs and optimizing frontend performance. Ability to write solid, testable, and maintainable code. Strong collaborative and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach. Benefits
As a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for benefits from day one, including: Health plans with $0 payroll deduction options. Family-building, fertility, adoption, and surrogacy benefits. Dental and vision plans with $0 contribution options. Company HSA contributions, FSAs, 401(k) with employer match, stock purchase plans, and other financial benefits. Insurance coverage including life, disability, and AD&D. Employee assistance, paid time off, holidays, and flexible schedules. Childcare support, voluntary benefits, wellness programs, and employee discounts. Expected compensation ranges from $120,000 to $210,000 annually, plus stock awards and benefits. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and other factors. Additional Details
